It’s a morning drink that wakes you up and is made from cocoa beans, and to most people it’s heaven sent. Yes, it’s coffee and more than that it’s Starbucks coffee. The Seattle-based coffee seller has already hopped on board to join the smartphone phenomenon with their Starbucks Card Mobile Application. They are now working to make it possible for iPhone and Blackberry users to actually pay for purchases while waiting in line through using the app. They have already started testing the mobile payments feature at 16 stores in Seattle and North Carolina, and over 1,000 Starbuck locations within Target stores. The Big Apple should celebrate as they are now expanding this test run to New York City, and Nassau, and Suffolk counties on Long Island.
The hope is that the app will help coffee drinkers easily manage their Starbucks accounts online including checking their Starbucks Card balance, reloading their account by credit card, paying for purchases using the new payment feature, finding the nearest Starbucks location and checking their rewards status. The only thing iPhone and Blackberry users need to do is download the free Starbucks Card Mobile app and pray that the test run goes well. Anything to get to work faster right?
