We’ve seen an entire gamut of ideas put up on the fundraising site Kickstarter.com. Napoleon Dynamite is currently trying to raise $25,000 on there to make a short film. Kickstarter is an important site amongst gadget geeks though, as many designers bring prototypes of their products there in hopes of turning them into a mass produced reality.
Cell phone accessories tend to be a popular item on here, especially when it comes to speakers. Tembo Trunks are speakers made out of silicone, and can be folded up and packed away for easy storage. What makes these speakers so unique is that they work when you plug the earbuds from your hands free headset into them.
According to the designers, they can amplify the sound up to 80 decibles. That’s not club pumping volumes by any stretch, but if you are out camping with friends or looking to pump some tunes in your office, these would conceivably be the perfect solution.
And as of writing this blog, Tembo Trunks has exploded past their goal of $10,000. They currently stand at just over $12k raised with 55 days left to go in their fundraising efforts. You can read all about Tembo Trunks here.
